The best farming simulator since Harvest Moon

I was just farming my land tonight, when suddenly I found something shiny. It was a Silver key. When I tried it in the chest at the Mayor's house, there was a Pearl inside!

What is a pearl?

The pearl is an item that can be found in Stardew Valley. It is mostly found by fishing, the only other way to get it is to buy it at the night market for 720g or find it in one of the town's quests.

What you need to do with the pearl?

After you get the pearl, go to the blacksmith and talk to him about upgrading your tools. He will tell you that he needs a "Precious Gem" and after giving it to him and paying 3,000g he will give you a choice between:

-Topaz

-Emerald

-Diamond

How to find pearls?

There are a few ways to find pearls in the world of Stardew Valley.

-You can fish for them (they are mostly found during winter).

-Sometimes you get one when interacting with certain items like Pirate Treasure or Coal.

-If you complete the quest "The Mysterious Qi" given by Mayor Lewis you will get a pearl.

-Be lucky and buy one from the night market, they're pricey though!

-You can also get a book from Krobus called "Where are all these pretty rocks coming from?" that tells you where you will be able to find all precious gems in the world of Stardew Valley.

Where are the best places to find pearls?

The best places to find pearls are:

-Fish in the spots where waterfalls go into the lake, mostly found during winter.

-On floor 4F of The Mines a rare chance of a pearl spawn. It's a bit easier to find them here if you have an item or pet that locates gems, like the hoe or the dog.

-Fish in the middle of summer, on sunny days with a purple shadow which means there is a high chance of pearls spawning!

When should you sell your pearls?

Sell them when they reach a high price , I would say keep them for when they're at least 25g each and sell all of them in one go.

The different types of pearls in Stardew Valley

There are a few types of pearls that you can find, they all have different specs.:

-Regular Pearls:

Rarity -Common.

-Golden Pearls:

Rarity -Uncommon. Can be found from fishing in the river only during summer and fall with a small chance of winter.

-Blue Pearls:

Rarity -Uncommon. Can be found from fishing in the river only during summer and fall with a small chance of winter.

-Rainbow Pearls:

Rarity -Ultra rare. Can be found from fishing in the lake during summers, falls and winters with an average HP spawn rate. They are also very good at selling for 50g each!

-Seahorses:

Rarity -Ultra rare. Found in the ocean only during the winter months.

When to use pearls?

Use Pearls when you have a lot of them and are at least 25g each, it's basically better then selling them for their gold value because they give you XP!

But make sure you sell them for more then 25g if you want to get the most out of them.

What you need to do with pearls?

Give pearls to your spouse, they will love it and give you hearts in return!

They also serve as a great gift because everyone likes them and they don't need to be cooked or anything.

The benefits of having a pearl in your inventory at all times

-They can be used to upgrade your tools and make them more efficient.

-They always sell for 50g each at the Blacksmith, making them a great way of earning money!

-You get XP from it also when you give one to your spouse (the amount differs depending on how many pearls you give).

-When you get married, your spouse will give you a Stardrop from their unique heart menu which is great!

My conclusion is I'm so glad they added this new type of item to the game, pearls are great both in terms of XP and money! They can be found easily but it takes some time so remember to fish every day!
